Community Eligibility Provision

Beginning the 2018-19 school year, Ferris ISD qualified for a new program. This program is Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

CEP means every student enrolled at FISD will receive a free breakfast and a free lunch each day. How is this possible? The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) have added students who receive Medicaid to our list of those who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), and Homeless and Migrant funds. By adding Medicaid our number of free students grew, allowing us to move to CEP.

We want to thank each of you for allowing us to serve your students. CEP will allow our staff to serve each student without the worry of money because a hungry student cannot learn.
